Hi, I’m Erin

Pronouns: she, her, hers

I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology in 2017 from Auburn University. I have done clinical work in counseling centers at four universities of varying sizes in Alabama, Georgia, and Oregon, as well as in a residential vocational rehabilitation program for young adults with disabilities. Prior to grad school, I directed a summer camp for children and young adults with cancer and their families.

My therapeutic style is relaxed and non-directive, focusing on each clients’ unique story, concerns, and needs. Through a collaborative process, I aim to help you better understand yourself, find self-compassion and self-respect, and make positive changes. My goal is to always let you lead the way, while being there to support and challenge you when you need it.

As a person-centered therapist, our time will always be focused on you, but I bring a lot of myself into the room, too. Thus, I believe it’s important for you to know who I am as a person (and not just as a professional). I identify as a white, lesbian/queer, cisgender woman. I identify as atheist, but have a deep respect for the important role of spirituality and religion in others’ lives. I hold strong multicultural and feminist values, and am committed to constant examination of my biases and blind spots, as well as to fighting racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and all prejudice in my community. I grew up in rural north Georgia and fell in love with the Willamette Valley when we moved here for my pre-doctoral internship. I live in Philomath with my wife, preschooler, two cats, and two dogs.
